We had a long weekend for Columbus Day in October, so we all packed up the car and headed to Gatlinburg, TN! Tyler was really excited to go and to take me with him because he went a lot growing up. It was about an 7 hour drive, but it went by quickly. Tyler rigged up his phone so we could watch some TV shows driving down. We stopped for dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Lake City, TN and had so much fun! They had a band performing outside and it was such a nice night so everyone was sitting outside listening to them play. Definitely a classic Cracker Barrel experience.
We stayed in a cute cabin up in the mountains. The first day we went to Gatlinburg and took old timey pictures, window shopped, and went to an awesome art fair. There was a ton of cool crafts, and an awesome band playing country music. To top off the day we all went and played mini golf.
We got suckered into buying a cute G for when we finally find somewhere to live :)
All the boys on their devices :)
On Sunday we drove up into the mountains to take pictures and walk around a little bit. Sadly, most of the parks were closed due to the government shut down. But we still got to see some beautiful scenery.
We celebrated Daddy G's birthday Sunday night with a yummy chocolate cake!
Monday we headed home and stopped by Norris, TN, where Tyler's Grandpa Guy grew up.
We all had fun, but we were all worn out from all the fun. Trey looks how most of us felt :)
It's so fun to go on vacations with your best friend and then come and still get to be together. It's a pretty awesome arrangement if you ask me!
